Decheng Jewelry - Insight Research into the Demand of High-Net-Worth Jewelry Consumers

Company overview
Decheng Jewelry Group Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Changle District, Fuzhou, Fujian Province. It is an integrated jewelry group offering full-spectrum services in jewelry R&D, precision manufacturing, wholesale and retail operations, brand marketing, and cultural creativity. The group provides end-to-end solutions across the entire jewelry value chain, with a well-established business system in product development, jewelry manufacturing, brand operations, and channel services. The company continuously promotes the integration of Eastern aesthetics, modern design, and jewelry craftsmanship.
Research background
As jewelry consumption increasingly shifts toward premiumization, personalization, and contextual usage, high-net-worth consumers no longer solely prioritize material quality and preservation value when purchasing jewelry. They now place greater emphasis on product design, brand tone, emotional expression, identity alignment, social value, and service experience. Decheng Jewelry intends to conduct a pre-market consumer study to establish a new premium jewelry brand positioning. Starting from real-world high-net-worth and high-potential jewelry consumers, the study aims to understand their decision-making logic across international luxury jewelry, premium gold, traditional gold (high-volume, high-margin products), and design-focused jewelry. The research will further clarify the key target consumer segments, value propositions, product directions, and consumption scenarios, providing consumer-based insights for future brand development and product strategy.
Research scope
In May 2026, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Decheng Jewelry Group Co., Ltd. to conduct a focused study on the demand patterns of high-net-worth jewelry consumers. The research spans four representative premium consumption cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou—and adopts a mixed-method approach combining in-depth interviews, quantitative surveys, and observation of brand touchpoints, providing both qualitative insight and quantitative validation. The study first constructs consumer profiles based on age, occupation, life stage, lifestyle, consumption capacity, and jewelry purchasing history, differentiating among international luxury jewelry consumers, premium gold buyers, traditional gold (high-volume) consumers, and other emerging segments to identify differences in demand characteristics and brand receptivity. In terms of consumption behavior, the research maps the full purchase journey—from need emergence, information gathering, brand evaluation, budget formation, product comparison, to final purchase—analyzing purchase motivations across self-use, gifting, commemoration, social occasions, inheritance, and personal rewards. It further examines the impact of factors such as brand trust, design style, material and craftsmanship, price rationality, in-store experience, and professional service on purchase conversion. The study also compares consumers’ perceptions of international luxury jewelry, premium gold, traditional gold, designer jewelry, and niche premium jewelry, analyzing the mental positioning of these brands in terms of sophistication, design appeal, cultural expression, preservation value, social value, and trustworthiness. Additionally, the research evaluates target consumers’ preferences across product categories, materials and craftsmanship, design aesthetics, usage contexts, and price ranges, identifying their product preferences and value assessment criteria. For emerging premium jewelry brands in China, the study will specifically explore consumers’ interests, concerns, trust thresholds, and first-time purchase conditions, and analyze how factors such as corporate strength, original design, craftsmanship, cultural expression, authoritative certification, store image, service guarantees, and customer word-of-mouth influence consumer acceptance of new brands.
Expected outcomes
This research will help Decheng Jewelry establish a comprehensive understanding of high-net-worth jewelry consumers, enabling the company to clearly identify key target segments and their consumption characteristics, as well as understand the purchase motivations, brand perceptions, product preferences, and price acceptance behaviors of different consumer groups. The findings will serve as a consumer-based foundation for future brand positioning, value proposition design, product portfolio planning, pricing strategy, channel experience development, and communication content creation. Additionally, the study will help identify the critical conditions under which new premium jewelry brands in China can build trust, perceived luxury, and differentiation in the consumer mind.
