With the increasing popularity of air travel and the potential risks associated with aviation incidents, air travel insurance has become a growing concern for more passengers. In conducting a new research project on air travel insurance, Guangdong Medical University plans to integrate the features of existing air travel insurance and aviation accident insurance to design a novel air travel insurance product. To ensure that the new insurance plan meets actual consumer needs and maintains market competitiveness, the university has decided to carry out an in-depth survey of current air travelers' consumption demands, collecting authentic data and trend insights on air travel insurance needs. This research will provide scientific basis for the study and insurance product development.
Research scope
On May 11, 2020, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Guangdong Medical University to conduct a questionnaire survey targeting air travel customers, focusing on understanding consumers' insurance needs and purchasing behaviors during air travel. The primary survey participants were individuals who had recently chosen air travel. The survey covered various aspects, including: the main reasons consumers purchase air travel insurance (such as coverage for aviation accidents, lost luggage, etc.), the frequency of insurance purchases, purchasing channels, key considerations in insurance products (such as price, coverage content, claims procedures, etc.), consumer satisfaction with existing air travel insurance products, and expectations for new insurance products. Through this comprehensive investigation, CEIDEA Research will collect multidimensional data on air travel insurance demand, providing strong data support for Guangdong Medical University's research project.
Expected outcomes
This research will provide Guangdong Medical University with a comprehensive analysis of consumer demand in designing a new air travel insurance product. Based on the questionnaire results, the university will gain a deep understanding of consumers' actual needs for air travel insurance, identify their primary motivations and preferences for purchasing insurance, and understand their opinions and expectations regarding current insurance products.
