Research background
As higher education reforms continue to deepen, the evaluation of teaching quality and the effectiveness of talent cultivation have gained increasing importance. Graduate employment status not only reflects teaching outcomes but also serves as a key basis for teaching reform and curriculum optimization. To systematically understand the employment development trajectories, industry distributions, position changes, and feedback from graduates regarding the quality of their education at their alma mater, the School of Economics and Management at China Civil Aviation University plans to conduct a graduate employment tracking assessment. This initiative aims to enhance alignment between talent cultivation and industry demands, and to promote synergistic development between teaching content and employment-oriented outcomes.
Research scope
In April 2018, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by the School of Economics and Management at China Civil Aviation University to conduct a four-year follow-up investigation into the employment status of graduates from the 2014 cohort. The study employed a structured online questionnaire combined with telephone follow-ups, covering individual graduates across the country. Key data collected include employment destinations, job transitions, salary levels, career development paths, industry distribution, career satisfaction, and evaluations of the alignment between academic curricula and professional needs. Special attention was paid to graduate feedback on specific aspects such as course design, practical teaching, and career guidance, further assessing the extent to which teaching supports career development.
Expected outcomes
The final research report will present a clear picture of the employment trends among the 2014 cohort, systematically analyze the relationship between career development and educational background, and identify shortcomings and areas for improvement in course design. The report will provide scientific data support and recommendations for the School of Economics and Management in optimizing professional curricula, allocating teaching resources, strengthening university-industry collaboration mechanisms, and refining career guidance strategies. Additionally, the report will serve as a foundational element for the establishment of the school's quality assurance and evaluation system, contributing to an overall enhancement of teaching quality and the university's comprehensive capacity to serve the civil aviation industry.
