Company overview

Chengdu Technician College is a nationally key vocational education institution and a nationally recognized model school, jointly sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal Government and designated as a national base for high-skilled talent training. Located in Chengdu, the college covers nearly 500 acres with a total building area exceeding 210,000 square meters, hosting over 15,000 students. Each year, it provides approximately 30,000 social training and certification services, fulfilling a dual mission of regional skill-based talent development and meeting industry development demands.

Research background

In order to gain a deeper understanding of the post-graduates' performance across different stages of their careers, as well as to obtain authentic feedback from employers regarding the quality of educational and training programs, the college intends to conduct a systematic tracking and survey. This effort aims to evaluate the actual effectiveness of talent cultivation after graduation, identify shortcomings in teaching and training processes, and provide scientific references for curriculum optimization and strategic improvements in talent development.

Research scope

In August 2016, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Chengdu Technician College to conduct a survey targeting alumni and their respective employers. The study employed both questionnaires and in-depth interviews, focusing on three groups: first, the graduates themselves after entering the workforce, with phased insights into their performance in career development, skill application, job fit, professional conduct, and overall ability enhancement; second, human resources departments of the graduate's employing organizations, to assess the quality of training, adaptability to work, and overall professional competence; and third, department heads responsible for operations, to evaluate the practical technical capabilities and potential for growth of the graduates in actual technical positions. By integrating data and analyzing interview insights, a multi-dimensional evaluation system for talent cultivation quality will be established.

Expected outcomes

The final report will comprehensively present the post-graduates' career development trajectories, growth achievements, and competency structures, highlighting the alignment between educational training and workplace demands. The research findings will provide actionable guidance and recommendations for the college in areas such as curriculum content, skill-based practical training, strengthening school-enterprise cooperation mechanisms, teaching reforms, career development guidance, and overall educational quality improvement, helping the college establish a closed-loop talent cultivation system and significantly enhance the effectiveness of its teaching and training in meeting industrial needs.
