Feasibility Study of Elderly Care Project

Company overview

Jiangshan Yinyin Elder Care Services Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Jiangshan Group, dedicated to premium elderly care services. It was officially established on October 21, 2016. The company leverages the robust resource advantages and extensive nationwide property portfolio of its parent organization, with plans to invest a total of 25 billion RMB over the next 3 to 5 years, transforming 40 to 50 five-star hotels under the group's and its partners' ownership into a premium, integrated elderly care system featuring high-quality housing, green wellness, medical and nursing services, cultural and recreational activities, and lifestyle amenities, setting a new benchmark in the elderly care industry.

Research background

As China enters an aging society, the diversification and premiumization of elderly care services are becoming increasingly evident, with growing demand for health-oriented, culture-based, and service-driven elderly care products. Jiangshan Yinyin intends to enter the mid-to-high-end elderly care market through the redevelopment of five-star hotels nationwide. However, prior to launching the project, a comprehensive understanding of industry development trends, market size, competitive landscape, and the core needs and service preferences of consumers is essential to avoid strategic missteps and resource misallocation. This study aims to provide a solid foundation for the company to formulate a scientifically sound and sustainable development strategy.

Research scope

In November 2017, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Jiangshan Yinyin Elder Care Services Co., Ltd. to conduct a comprehensive study on macro-level trends and consumer demands in the elderly care sector. Through in-depth interviews with experts, scholars, and industry operators, the study analyzes the development pathways, business models, policy directions, and sustainability of the premium elderly care industry. Concurrently, a questionnaire survey was conducted among middle-aged and elderly consumers in key cities to gain a deeper understanding of their actual needs regarding elderly care facility selection, service requirements, living preferences, health management, and cultural and recreational activities, as well as their willingness to pay. The findings will systematically identify the target user profile and potential service gaps, providing empirical data to support the design of differentiated elderly care products and services.

Expected outcomes

The research findings will enable Jiangshan Yinyin Elder Care Services Co., Ltd. to comprehensively understand the current state and future trends of the elderly care industry from multiple perspectives—including policy environments, industry development, market supply and demand, and consumption patterns. It will also clearly define the needs, willingness to pay, and preference characteristics of the target customer segments, providing a solid basis for the company to develop a scientifically sound market entry strategy and resource allocation plan. This will help mitigate strategic risks, enhance operational efficiency, and offer systematic decision support for the company's nationwide expansion of a premium elderly care brand.
