As a well-known enterprise in the construction machinery sector, Xinchang has long been committed to the sales of high-end equipment and comprehensive after-sales services. It is the sole authorized distributor for Caterpillar (Caterpillar), a global leader in construction machinery, covering the six provinces in South China, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong and Macau. Research background
With intensifying market competition and rising customer service standards, users in the construction machinery sector are increasingly demanding higher expectations in service quality. For large-scale equipment service providers operating across regions, accurately understanding user needs, optimizing service processes, and improving customer satisfaction have become key factors in enhancing competitiveness. As a key partner of Caterpillar in China, Xinchang Machine Engineering Co., Ltd. aims to gain deeper insights into the actual experiences and improvement suggestions of its customers in after-sales service through a systematic survey, thereby enhancing the efficiency and human-centered nature of its service system.
Research scope
On October 22, 2002, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Xinchang Machine Engineering Co., Ltd. to conduct a nationwide customer satisfaction survey targeting its user base. This study combined telephone interviews and questionnaire surveys, covering representative enterprise clients across the six South China provinces, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong and Macau—regions where Xinchang provides services. The focus was on evaluating customer satisfaction across key dimensions including equipment delivery, repair response time, spare parts supply, technical support, and the professionalism of service personnel. Survey samples included typical application scenarios such as construction, mining operations, and municipal engineering projects. The goal was to identify service weaknesses through real data and provide targeted optimization recommendations.
Expected outcomes
This survey is expected to provide Xinchang Machine with data-driven insights into the current state of customer service experiences, helping to identify regional disparities in service execution, potential bottlenecks in operational processes, and blind spots in customer communication. Based on the findings, Xinchang will be able to refine its service system, improve team response efficiency, and enhance overall customer satisfaction. This will further strengthen its market position as a premium construction equipment service provider and provide a scientific basis for future service upgrades and strategic adjustments across the country.
