Service Evaluation of Mobile Phone Chain Store Outlets

Company overview

Zhu Hai Meizu Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in 2003 and is a well-known developer and manufacturer of smart smartphones in China. Meizu, guided by the brand philosophy of 'pursuing excellence and persisting in innovation,' is committed to delivering high-performance, high-quality smartphones and related ecosystem products to its customers. Over the years, Meizu has continuously optimized technological innovation in product development and places great emphasis on the construction of offline channel networks and customer service experiences. The company has established a nationwide network of self-operated and partner store outlets, forming a complete pre-sale, in-sale, and after-sale service system, making it one of the most comprehensive service-organized brands in the consumer electronics industry.

Research background

In the increasingly competitive smartphone market, the service experience in offline retail stores has become a key factor in building consumer brand loyalty and recognition. To standardize service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction, Meizu has conducted comprehensive service training for employees across its self-operated and partner store outlets. However, the effectiveness of such training and the actual implementation of service processes still require systematic evaluation and on-site verification. To this end, Meizu has engaged a third-party research institution to conduct mystery shopper monitoring, ensuring that service quality remains consistent with brand commitments.

Research scope

In April 2017, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Zhu Hai Meizu Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. to carry out a mystery shopper service monitoring study across a total of 4,000 Meizu self-operated and partner store outlets nationwide. The study employed a unified, standardized operational framework to simulate the full consumer journey from store entry to checkout, systematically recording actual performance at key service touchpoints. Evaluation focused on dimensions including overall store environment, customer reception time, professionalism of service procedures, mastery of product knowledge, service attitude, execution of promotional activities, and specific service experiences. Comparative analysis with leading competing brands was also conducted to ensure the comparability and industry-relevant value of the findings.

Expected outcomes

The final research report will comprehensively reflect the strengths and weaknesses of Meizu's self-operated and partner store services in real-world operations, offering data-driven recommendations for improving service consistency, standard execution, and customer perception. This research will provide Meizu with reliable insights to refine its terminal service system, optimize training content, and enhance overall store operational quality, enabling the company to gain greater customer trust and reputation in the fiercely competitive mobile retail market.
