Research background

With the rapid advancement of information technology and increasingly intense industry competition, fashion enterprises have placed higher demands on the professionalization and customization of software systems in key operational areas such as supply chain, inventory, sales, and finance. To ensure that their products remain aligned with industry dynamics and accurately meet the needs of enterprise users, Kingdee needs to gain a deep understanding of the specific software module usage experiences and future expectations of fashion industry users. This research was initiated to address the dual needs of product optimization and insight into emerging industry trends.

Research scope

In July 2001, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Kingdee Software (China) Co., Ltd. to conduct a specialized study on the application requirements of enterprise management software in the fashion industry. The research covered representative cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Chengdu, conducting in-depth interviews with mid-to-senior level managers from various types of fashion enterprises—including branded companies, contract manufacturers, and design studios—to thoroughly understand their specific needs and usage feedback in areas such as order management, production progress control, inventory allocation, financial accounting, and customer relationship management. The study focused on the practicality of software modules, human-computer interaction experience, customization requirements, and expectations for future functional enhancements, aiming to provide reliable data support for the subsequent product optimization and innovation of Kingdee Software.

Expected outcomes

This research will provide strong support for Kingdee to deeply understand the core needs and evolving trends of fashion industry enterprises during their digital transformation processes. The research findings will be used to guide the optimization and upgrade of software modules and the design of new features, enhancing the professionalism and practicality of the products and improving the system's adaptability to specific industry segments. Through this study, Kingdee Software is expected to further strengthen its competitive advantage in providing industry-specific solutions for the fashion sector, improve customer satisfaction and market penetration, and achieve precise alignment between technology and industry applications.
