Market Entry Research for Multi-functional Window and Door Products

Company overview

Lepet (Malaysia) International Group, established in 1924, is a large, diversified international enterprise group with core business operations spanning logistics, retail supermarkets, real estate development, food manufacturing, animal husbandry and agriculture, and financial services. The 'LIGO' brand is widely distributed across 40 countries and regions including Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and North America, earning strong trust and recognition among global consumers. Lepet (Hong Kong) International Investment Group Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lepet Group operating in China, is primarily responsible for the market promotion and investment operations of patented building materials products.

Research background

As urban residents' demands for home quality and personalized design continue to rise, innovative window and door products such as multi-functional sliding windows have gained increasing market attention. To facilitate the effective market launch of its patented product—the sliding and sliding multi-functional window—Lepet (Hong Kong) International Investment Group Co., Ltd. intends to conduct a comprehensive study to identify key factors such as consumer demand patterns, sales pain points, and channel collaboration models, providing actionable insights for the development of future market entry strategies.

Research scope

In November 2013, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Lepet (Hong Kong) International Investment Group Co., Ltd. to conduct a specialized study on the market entry feasibility of its sliding and sliding multi-functional window product in China. The research focused on representative cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen as core case study areas, employing a mixed-method approach combining in-depth qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys. Information was collected from three target groups: 1) end consumers, to understand their preferences for window and door functions, usage scenarios, aesthetic expectations, and price tolerance; 2) window and door sales outlets and building material market vendors, to assess market performance, consumer feedback, sales logic, and related after-sales service conditions; and 3) interior decoration and design firms, to explore their level of product recommendation involvement, recommendation criteria, and willingness to collaborate. The study also examined the current market landscape of comparable products, including brand positioning, functional differences, and price ranges, providing foundational data for competitive strategy development.

Expected outcomes

This research will deliver a comprehensive pre-market entry assessment report for the Lepet Group, clarifying the product's acceptance level, application scenarios, and price sensitivity in target markets. It will segment potential core consumer groups and identify the most valuable sales and partnership channels. The findings will support the company's strategic decisions regarding precise market positioning, resource allocation, channel distribution, and product communication strategies, enabling successful market penetration and commercial expansion within China's premium window and door segment.
