Brand Awareness and Consumer Profile Study

Company overview

BaoZai Huang was founded in 2012 and is a nationwide chain restaurant brand dedicated to traditional Chinese culinary culture, specializing in baozi rice and old-style medicinal soups. The brand currently operates over 170 stores, strategically located in major and medium-sized cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou. BaoZai Huang positions itself on the core values of 'freshness, authenticity, and high quality,' maintaining strict ingredient selection and on-site cooking at each store. Its mission is to deliver a healthy, traditional Chinese dining experience that is both convenient and authentic for modern urban consumers, earning widespread consumer affection and a strong reputation

Research background

With increasing competition in the chain dining industry and growing diversification in consumer habits and brand awareness, BaoZai Huang aims to conduct a systematic market research to comprehensively understand the brand's recognition and image perception among consumers. The study seeks to accurately map the demographic and behavioral profiles of target consumers, including their consumption patterns and potential needs. To enhance brand communication efficiency, optimize product and service strategies, and guide future marketing decisions, BaoZai Huang commissioned CEIDEA Research to conduct a specialized study on 'Brand Awareness and Consumer Profile' in January 2024

Research scope

This study combines quantitative questionnaires with qualitative interviews, focusing on three key cities: Beijing, Hefei, and Shanghai. It conducts a systematic investigation targeting both existing customers and potential target audiences. Research areas include brand recognition, brand associations, acceptance of core menu items, service satisfaction, frequency and motivations for consumption, average order value, dining scenarios, and evolving preferences. By cross-analyzing consumer data on age, occupation, income, and consumption habits, the study aims to construct a detailed consumer profile for BaoZai Huang, identify potential consumer needs and product preferences, and uncover the key factors influencing their purchasing decisions—providing scientific insights to support future market strategies

Expected outcomes

Through this research, BaoZai Huang will obtain a comprehensive analysis of current brand awareness and market acceptance, identifying strengths and weaknesses within key consumer segments. The study will clarify the focus areas for brand communication and product optimization. The consumer profile analysis will enable the company to develop more targeted product and marketing strategies, improving brand communication efficiency and market penetration. Ultimately, the research findings will help BaoZai Huang achieve more precise market positioning and resource allocation within the Chinese cuisine sector, strengthen its core competitiveness, and drive sustained brand growth and expansion
