Research on Competitors in the Cocktail Market

Company overview

Guanzhen Wine Group was founded in 2010 and is a professional enterprise dedicated to promoting China's fine traditional wine culture, specializing in brand development and marketing strategies for baijiu. Headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan, the company leverages its deep industry resources and operational expertise to integrate premium wine brands and establish an efficient marketing system. The Guanzhen team brings over two decades of hands-on experience in the industry, having actively participated in and driven the market positioning and growth of several well-known baijiu brands, such as Guojiao 1573 and Honghua Lang. It has now become one of the most influential brand operation platforms in the Chinese baijiu industry.

Research background

In recent years, as young consumers have developed more diverse drinking habits, the popularity and attention paid to cocktail beverages have continued to rise, positioning them as a new growth category for wine brands. In response, Guanzhen Wine Group plans to expand its brand portfolio into the cocktail segment and thus urgently requires a systematic understanding of its key competitors' operational models—including channel structures, pricing strategies, sales approaches, and market maintenance practices—to scientifically develop its own product entry and growth strategies. To this end, Guanzhen Wine Group has engaged a third-party research institution to conduct competitive analysis, supporting its product decisions and channel system development.

Research scope

In January 2015, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Guanzhen Wine Group to carry out a specialized study on the channel operations and management systems of leading brands in the cocktail market. This research focused on key cities across the country, examining the sales channels for cocktails through on-site interviews, in-depth industry interviews, and secondary data collection. The study comprehensively analyzed competitors' channel hierarchy structures, wholesale and terminal pricing, supply frequency, logistics response times, promotional mechanisms, market expense allocations, channel incentive policies, channel maintenance strategies, marketing management systems, performance evaluation models, and serial goods (counterfeiting/illegal distribution) control mechanisms. The research team also conducted comparative analysis of different brands' channel efficiency and market coverage to identify potential market opportunities.

Expected outcomes

Through this competitive analysis, Guanzhen Wine Group will gain a deep understanding of the mature practices and common challenges adopted by leading cocktail brands in channel development and management. The study will clearly identify market gaps and emerging opportunities. The findings will provide systematic data support for the group in building channel structures, formulating pricing strategies, optimizing logistics and supply mechanisms, and designing market incentive policies. This will help Guanzhen establish a scientific and efficient sales and channel management system, enhancing the efficiency of new product market entry and long-term competitive advantage
