Channel Satisfaction Study

Company overview

SCHMIDT Cabinet, founded in 1934, is a premium cabinet brand under the SALM Group, a renowned French provider of complete kitchen solutions and cabinet exporters, long holding a leading position in the European market. In 2014, the SCHMIDT brand was introduced to the Chinese market by SOFIA, a leading enterprise in the Chinese custom home furnishings industry, marking the official beginning of its localization strategy. Leveraging SOFIA's extensive market experience and channel advantages in the Chinese custom home furnishings sector, combined with France's SCHMIDT expertise in cabinet manufacturing and its rich cultural heritage, SCHMIDT Cabinet quickly established a professional, meticulous, and high-quality brand image in the mid-to-high-end overall kitchen market in China.

Research background

Since entering the Chinese market, SCHMIDT Cabinet has rapidly built a nationwide network of distributors. However, amid the diversification of market environments, distributors have increasingly encountered challenges related to policy understanding, market support, and service coordination—issues that directly impact the brand's performance at the retail level and its customer loyalty. To optimize channel operations and enhance channel satisfaction, and to promptly identify existing issues and recommendations within the distribution chain, SCHMIDT Cabinet urgently needs professional research to evaluate the current state of channel collaboration and provide data-driven insights for future policy adjustments.

Research scope

In July 2015, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by SCHMIDT Cabinet to conduct an in-depth study of its key distributors and store owners across the country. This research employed a combination of structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews, covering distributors' satisfaction across multiple dimensions including brand image, product supply, market support, after-sales service, training programs, promotional activities, and profit margins. The study specifically focused on collecting distributors' firsthand experiences with the current operational model, their pain points, and recommendations for improvement. Additionally, by analyzing regional differences, the research identified common channel management issues and individualized needs, providing detailed input for the development of future channel strategies.

Expected outcomes

The findings of this study will help SCHMIDT Cabinet comprehensively understand distributor satisfaction levels and their actual operational needs, identify key management weaknesses within the channel system, and drive improvements in distributor policies regarding support intensity, performance evaluation, and service responsiveness. The research report will also provide relevant functional departments with quantifiable performance assessment tools, enabling internal management processes to be refined based on channel satisfaction metrics. This will enhance coordination between headquarters and the channel network, improve terminal execution efficiency and market penetration, and support the deepening of the SCHMIDT brand's presence in the Chinese overall kitchen market.
