Research on the Shenzhen Financial Market

Company overview

Yixin Company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Beijing. It is one of China's leading comprehensive financial service institutions, with business operations spanning wealth management, credit risk assessment and management, credit data integration and analysis services, and other areas. Yixin was the first to introduce advanced international credit concepts into China and innovatively launched a P2P credit lending platform, thereby promoting the marketization of China's personal credit system. The company adheres to a technology-driven approach to financial services and is committed to providing diversified financial solutions for China's high-net-worth individuals, underserved financial populations, and small and medium-sized enterprises, establishing itself as a key player in China's fintech industry

Research background

As a key national development zone, Shenzhen boasts a robust economic foundation, diverse population structure, and an open financial policy environment. Yixin Company intends to designate Shenzhen as one of its core strategic development cities and will conduct an in-depth investigation into the local policy environment, financial market competition landscape, and potential high-net-worth client segments. The company aims to precisely identify operational risks and opportunities within the Shenzhen market through this research, enabling the development of more tailored market entry and brand communication strategies that align with local market characteristics

Research scope

In June 2016, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Yixin Company to conduct an in-depth study of the Shenzhen market, covering three key areas: 1. Macro-environmental factors: The research analyzed Shenzhen's policy support, regional population distribution, ratio of permanent to migrant residents, migration cycles, and language usage patterns, evaluating the impact of local social structures on the acceptance of financial services; 2. Competitive market dynamics: The study systematically reviewed the current state of the financial services industry in Shenzhen, analyzing the competitive landscape of P2P and wealth management sectors, including market entry strategies, brand communication approaches, promotional activity timing, and target audience profiles of leading brands, while also capturing operational insights from competitors in market education and client cultivation; 3. Demographic characteristics: The research focused on the distribution patterns of high-net-worth individuals in Shenzhen, their asset allocation preferences, risk awareness levels, investment decision-making behaviors, and perceptions and preferences toward financial brands. It developed detailed customer segmentation profiles and explored their core needs in wealth management services

Expected outcomes

Through this research, Yixin Company will gain a comprehensive understanding of Shenzhen's policy, demographic, industry, and customer ecosystems, providing systematic decision-making support for its business operations, brand positioning, and customer engagement strategies in the local market. The findings will help the company identify the optimal timing for market entry, determine appropriate communication channels, and establish core service strategies, effectively aligning local resources with its business model. This will further expand its reach into the high-net-worth market and strengthen Yixin's financial services footprint in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
