Sophia - Consumer Satisfaction Study on Custom Wardrobes

Company overview
Sophia Home Furniture Co., Ltd. was founded in 2003, with its headquarters and production base located in Ningxi Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. It is a well-known brand in the Chinese custom home furnishings industry. The company specializes in the R&D, design, production, and sales of custom wardrobes and related furniture. Sophia was the first to propose the 'custom wardrobe plus wall cabinet door' product concept in China, setting the trend for the development of the home customization market. Thanks to its advanced manufacturing systems, strong design capabilities, and extensive sales network, Sophia has gained widespread consumer recognition and has established over a thousand sales and service outlets nationwide, significantly expanding its market coverage and brand influence.
Research background
As competition in the custom home furnishings market intensifies, consumers are demanding higher standards in product quality and service experience. To strengthen its brand reputation and enhance customer loyalty, Sophia Home Furniture hopes to gain a systematic understanding of consumers' authentic experiences throughout the purchase and usage process, identify weaknesses in both product and service workflows, and optimize its management and service systems through data-driven insights. Based on this, the company commissioned CEIDEA Research to conduct a large-scale customer satisfaction assessment across the country, comprehensively evaluating its product and service performance to establish a long-term, effective customer satisfaction management mechanism.
Research scope
In May 2016, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Sophia Home Furniture Co., Ltd. to conduct a telephone survey on customer satisfaction across its 1,200 sales regions nationwide. In each sales region, 10 customers who had made purchases within the past six months were randomly selected for in-depth interviews focusing on two core dimensions: 'product satisfaction' and 'service satisfaction.' Product satisfaction covered aspects such as product quality, practicality, price rationality, design style, and aesthetic appeal; service satisfaction included key stages such as product explanations during the sales process, in-store reception, sales staff professionalism and service attitude, as well as logistics and installation services during the after-sales phase. Throughout the research, CEIDEA Research developed a standardized question framework and scoring system to ensure data comparability and analytical effectiveness.
Expected outcomes
Through this study, Sophia will receive comprehensive feedback on its product and service performance across all sales regions, clearly identifying overall satisfaction levels and regional differences, and promptly detecting key weaknesses affecting customer experience. The research findings will provide quantitative evidence to optimize pre-sales consultations, in-store services, and post-sales installation processes. Additionally, the study will lay the foundation for establishing a scientific customer satisfaction indicator system and building a database for cross-regional comparisons and longitudinal trend analysis over time, supporting Sophia's systematic, data-driven, and continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and service quality management.
