Survey on Existing Customers' Re-lending Needs

Company overview

Jexin China is a wholly-owned subsidiary established in China by PPF Group, a leading financial institution in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. As one of the pioneers in China's consumer finance sector, Jexin provides convenient and fast loan solutions through innovative in-store installment services. Its business operations cover multiple cities nationwide, with a service network extending into both urban and rural areas. Leveraging its mature expertise in fintech and consumer lending, Jexin has built a stable customer base and strong brand presence in the Chinese market.

Research background

As the consumer lending market continues to evolve and users' lending behaviors mature, Jexin plans to launch a large-denomination cash loan product to meet growing customer funding needs. However, during actual operations, it has been observed that some existing customers show low interest in reapplying for loans (i.e., re-lending), with a noticeable decline in usage frequency. To better understand customer behaviors and motivations, identify the root causes behind low re-lending intentions, and develop more compelling product strategies, a dedicated research initiative is urgently needed.

Research scope

In June 2019, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by Jexin Financial to conduct one-on-one in-depth interviews with existing customers. The study focused on customers' experiences with loan usage, tolerance for interest rates, typical loan scenarios, awareness and acceptance of cash loan products, and further explored the core reasons behind their reluctance to re-apply for loans, including interest sensitivity, reduced funding needs, and experiences with approval processes. Additionally, the research aimed to identify potential re-lending needs and expectations among customers, as well as to understand their preferences for large-denomination cash loans and preferred channels for receiving product information.

Expected outcomes

This study will provide Jexin Financial with comprehensive, data-driven insights into the lending behaviors of existing customers, barriers to re-lending, and underlying motivations for re-lending. The findings will inform product optimization, interest rate strategy development, and re-lending marketing strategies, effectively enhancing product penetration and re-lending rates, and ultimately supporting the successful launch and market acceptance of large-denomination cash loan products.
