Research on Smart Waste Monitoring Stations in Hengyang

Company overview

COWAROBOT (Kuwa Robot) was founded in 2015 and is a technology company specializing in short-range autonomous transportation and intelligent service robotics solutions. The company is committed to enhancing urban mobility and service efficiency through intelligent driving and intelligent network connectivity technologies. Its technical focus lies in intelligent applications within complex urban environments, positioning it as a leading provider of intelligent driving solutions. The company possesses strong R&D capabilities and practical experience in autonomous driving and robotics system integration

Research background

With the nationwide promotion of household waste sorting policies and increasing emphasis on urban environmental governance, COWAROBOT plans to invest in the infrastructure of Hengyang's environmental sanitation and waste processing systems, advancing the intelligence of urban waste collection processes. To scientifically plan the network of smart waste collection vehicles—including station locations and operational routes—the company urgently requires comprehensive data on the current status of Hengyang's waste sorting and recycling system, including waste volume, residential coverage, transfer frequency, staffing levels, and management structures.

Research scope

In July 2020, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by COWAROBOT to conduct on-site field research in Hengyang to gain an in-depth understanding of the practical implementation of local waste sorting and recycling operations. Through field visits, questionnaires, and interviews with relevant authorities, the study systematically collected data on the geographic distribution, daily waste volumes, number of covered residents, transfer frequency, operating entities, and staffing ratios of various waste collection points. The research also observed residents' waste disposal behaviors and patterns of disposal timing, providing first-hand insights to support the deployment of smart waste collection systems.

Expected outcomes

This research is expected to deliver COWAROBOT with a comprehensive overview of Hengyang's waste recycling network, enabling the company to scientifically plan the deployment locations and operational routes for smart waste collection vehicles. By understanding residents' waste disposal behaviors and operational data from collection stations, COWAROBOT will achieve optimized resource allocation, improve the operational efficiency of smart waste collection vehicles, and establish a standardized operational model and practical reference for future deployment of similar intelligent solutions in other cities.
