The Guangdong Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission's Contraceptive Supplies Management Center, formerly the Guangdong Provincial Population and Family Planning Contraceptive Supplies Management Station, was established in August 1985 and serves as a key functional unit within the provincial family planning system. Its primary responsibilities include the management and service delivery of contraceptive supplies, the formulation of provincial-wide demand and distribution plans, the trial promotion and training services for contraceptive products, as well as the procurement, allocation, and storage of supplies. Research background
In order to advance public health service system construction and enhance the awareness and acceptance among reproductive-age individuals of free contraceptive supply programs and reproductive health knowledge, the Guangdong Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission's Contraceptive Supplies Management Center urgently needs to understand the public's level of awareness and satisfaction regarding these services, identify weaknesses in current service delivery, and further improve service accessibility and effectiveness, thereby supporting the precision and humanization of public health initiatives.
Research scope
In February 2018, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by the Guangdong Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission's Contraceptive Supplies Management Center to conduct a telephone-based sampling survey among reproductive-age individuals across 21 cities in Guangdong Province. A total of 30 samples were selected from each city, resulting in 630 total respondents. The survey focused on reproductive-age individuals' awareness of free contraceptive supply programs and reproductive health knowledge, as well as their satisfaction with the convenience, timeliness, service attitude, and overall quality of the provided services, offering a comprehensive assessment of the current coverage and public acceptance of the contraceptive supply service system.
Expected outcomes
This study aims to systematically analyze data on public awareness and satisfaction, identify blind spots and areas for improvement in service promotion, and provide decision-support recommendations to the Guangdong Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission's Contraceptive Supplies Management Center regarding the optimization of promotional strategies, enhanced service efficiency, and strengthened grassroots service infrastructure, ultimately contributing to continuous improvement in public health service quality across the province.
