Company overview

The Zhongshan City Administration for Quality Supervision's Code Management Office (Code Management Office) operates under the Zhongshan City Administration for Quality and Technical Supervision, Guangdong Province. Its primary responsibilities include the management and promotion of organizational institution codes and product barcodes, research and service on standard information, revision of product standards, enterprise standard consultations, and technical consulting services related to WTO/TBT. As a key technical support unit for Zhongshan City's implementation of the 'Quality-Driven City' strategy, the Code Management Office plays a critical role in enhancing local product quality and strengthening standard management

Research background

In response to the national 'Quality-Driven Nation' strategy, and in pursuit of Zhongshan City's successful designation as a 'National Model Quality-Driven City,' it is essential to accurately assess residents' satisfaction with the quality of goods circulating in the market. Product quality serves as a key indicator of urban business environment and residents' quality of life, and must be evaluated through scientific and systematic research methods. The Code Management Office of Zhongshan City Administration for Quality Supervision intends to obtain authentic consumer feedback through this survey, identify gaps in quality management, and enhance the city's overall quality image

Research scope

In October 2016, CEIDEA Research was commissioned by the Code Management Office of Zhongshan City Administration for Quality Supervision to conduct a consumer satisfaction survey on product quality within Zhongshan City. The project employed a combination of telephone interviews, offline questionnaires, and online surveys, with a random sample of 2,000 residents. The survey focused on collecting residents' evaluations, complaints, and expectations regarding the quality of commonly used goods such as food, daily necessities, and pharmaceuticals. Survey participants included individuals across various genders, age groups, occupations, and income levels, ensuring the representativeness and comprehensiveness of the sample

Expected outcomes

This study aims to systematically evaluate the overall public perception and satisfaction levels regarding product quality in Zhongshan City, analyze issues across different product categories and their underlying factors, and provide critical data and social feedback support for the Code Management Office's efforts in advancing the city's 'Quality-Driven City' application. The final report will serve as a data foundation for government policymakers to develop targeted recommendations for improving product quality supervision and public service capabilities, thereby enhancing public awareness and the management image of Zhongshan City as a benchmark for quality excellence
